art.homes is an art project which aims at promoting young artists from Munich and Istanbul. Ten artists from Munich and ten from Istanbul will meet and be paired up to share and make use of 10 apartments in Istanbul (2010) and in Munich (2011). The artists are supposed to respond to the specific spatial situation of each apartment and work there experimentally, so that everyday homes will be transformed into art laboratories. Their art-in-progress will also be accessible to the public for the duration of 10 days. Me and Motoko Dobashi, we’re working at our flat in Tarlabasi, Kilic Aslan St. / 18, and you’re invited! The artist houses are open to visitors between 14:00 / 19:00 starting from November 2nd. Contributing artists : Siyoung Kim, Elif Süsler, Kaori Nakajima, Deniz M. The Open Art Space Mtaär had to shut down due to known errors in the System. We’re deeply sorry. We now take a moment to thank everyone who have supported us from the beginning until the end: Thank you… We also would like to apologize to all upcoming artists scheduled to appear in Mtaär for the inconvenience; we appreciate your understanding. From now on we will continue to organize shows in alternative spaces. We will let you know about the news, see you again.

Our new thing called ReftLight, lately has published it’s first issue -or let’s say lp- with contribution of eight artists. To me it’s a great compilation and I listen to it at home frequently. I hope everyone enjoy it. And if you are a musiciany or an audio artist, you are definetaly invited to ReftLight’s next issue.

Kupka was started by Erkin Gören and Berkan Tunçludemir with the name of Monera in 1998 in İstanbul. They started off with covering bands such as 59 Times the Pain, Ten Foot Pole, No Use For A Name. Not much later, they started making their own songs and played in numerous venues such as Kemancı Rock Bar, Peyote, 3L, Bronx and many more, including school festivals.

The band gained a new form with Cenk Akkaya joining with the drums in 2002, changed its name to Mould, and the members recorded their first LP, consisting of five of their own songs. During this time, they were influenced by indie/post rock bands like Karate, Pinback, Sea, Cake and went for a heavily instrumental music. Kupka, after recording “Uyk La” in 2005, an LP with eight of their songs , continued their concerts.

Since year 2009, Kupka continues its music as a duo. In 2010, Erkin Gören and Berkan Tunçludemir recorded their third LP called Sons Onz which includes 5 new tracks.

Turgut Özal’ı sevmiyorsun. Tombik tombik çizmişsin gerçi, sevilmeyecek bir tarafı da yok ona bakınca. Yine de sanatçılar Turgut Özal’ı sevmemelilerdir. Sevmemelidirler.

Ve Kenan Evren de kötüdür. Bunu her fırsatta belirtmeli, beynimizi bununla uyuşturmalıyız. İşi gücü bırakıp 20 yıl önce darbe yapmış patates kafaların portrelerini yapıp oraya buraya asmalıyız. Neden, bunu kimsenin bilmesine gerek yok. Sanatçının görevi toplumsal travmaları Nazo reklamı gibi ele alıp durmaktır. Başını belaya sokmayacak ölçüde isyankar, kendi küçük çevresinde başı dik yürümesine yetecek kadar olsa kafi işte.
